About Us

At Anne's Cottage we try to exceed your expectations for 4 Star Self Catering accommodation.  The focus is for a family led positive guest experience, so that you will come knocking on our door for future visits.

We offer the warmest welcome.  Anne's Cottage is very much a family concern, with your host Anne, firmly at the helm. Travelling both in the UK and abroad she is very much aware of the differences of quality and standards with accommodation. With this in mind, the focus is on quality. This has won many guests over the years with many returning year after year since the cottage opened for business in 2001.

Your comfort and expectations are assured through the national assurance quality rating system, Visit Britain.  The cottage has consistently gained 4 Star 'Highly Commended' certification.

Anne's Cottage is suitable couples and family groups.  It is very popular with groups looking to enjoy some time together, spreading the cost between them to make it even more better value.

Children are very welcome and have proven to enjoy the countryside and learn about about the forest and life on the farm a matter of metres away. For stress free travel, we provide a range of baby equipment including high chair, travel cot (bedding required), at no extra cost.

Walking and cycling friendly

There are a multitude of local walks and cycle routes to suit all ages and abilities in the Forest of Dean.  Bicycles may be hired throughout the forest area but if you are bringing your own they can be stored in the secure shed in the shared garden. In order for you to make the most of your holiday detailed maps, guides and binoculars are provided.

Fishermen friendly

The River Wye is just down the hill.  Becareful though you will have a steep climb up if you decide to walk! The river has a great variety of inhabitants including chub, roach, dace, bream, pike, salmon and trout.  It is also rumored that there is also the odd pearch and carp coming out of the river.

Canoeist friendly

The River Wye is nationally known for outstanding canoeing.  Many guests book canadian canoes from Ross on Wye and take a meander down to Symonds Yat.  We can recommend the best activity centres which will meet up with you at the end of your trip.  A day on the river is an ideal way to relax.
